INTERVENCIÓN EDUCATIVA SOBRE EL USO DE PLANTAS MEDICINALES DIRIGIDA A PADRES Y REPRESENTANTES DE NIÑOS EN EDAD ESCOLAR EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION ON THE USE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS DIRECTED AT PARENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN

Resumen

Las plantas se han usado en la medicina tradicional para satisfacer las necesidades de atención primaria de salud. El objetivo del artículo es Explicar una intervención educativa sobre el uso de plantas medicinales dirigida a padres y representantes de niños en edad escolar.  Desde lo metodológico, se trata de un trabajo de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño experimental, tipo pre experimental en el que recogió información de un grupo de representantes de escolares del sector La Romana de Valle de la Pascua, estado Guárico, se les aplicó prueba diagnóstica, seguidamente, se hizo la intervención educativa para finalmente aplicar nuevamente prueba de evaluación. En los resultados se evidenció que, los encuestados el 94% conocen los beneficios de las plantas medicinales mientras el 57% desconoce los daños ocasionados en los escolares; posterior a la intervención educativa se logró incrementar el conocimiento significativamente con evaluación satisfactoria de 100% positiva. Se concluye que, es necesario concientizar a la población sobre los daños que ocasionan las plantas medicinales en los niños.


Abstract


Plants have been used in traditional medicine to meet primary health care needs. However, the use of them in children can be harmful to the life of the infant. Therefore, the objective of the article is to show the results of a research aimed at developing an educational intervention on the use of medicinal plants aimed at parents and representatives of school-age children. From the methodological point of view, it is a work with a quantitative approach, experimental design, pre-experimental type in which information was collected from a group of representatives of schoolchildren from the La Romana sector of Valle de la Pascua, Guárico state, a diagnostic test was applied to them, Next, the educational intervention was carried out to finally apply the evaluation test again. The results showed that of the parents and representatives surveyed, 97% have knowledge ofwhat medicinl plants are, 94% of them know their benefits while 57% are unaware of the harm caused to schoolchildren by the administration of plants. medicinal. 64% of the study population obtained information prior to the administration of medicinal plants; Whether through the Internet, the outpatient clinic or knowledge transmitted by your family, the medicinal plants that are most frequently used in this study are represented by pajeté at 50%, followed by lemon balm and fregosa with 44%. After the educational intervention, knowledge was significantly increased with a satisfactory evaluation of 100% positive. It is concluded that it is necessary to raise awareness among the population about the harm that medicinal plants cause in children.
