COMPETENCIAS COMUNICACIONALES DEL IDIOMA INGLÉS EN ESTUDIANTES DE EDUCACION MEDIA TÉCNICA COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN TECHNICAL MIDDLE EDUCATION STUDENTS

Resumen

Los estudiantes escolarizados en el sistema educativo venezolano a partir del primer año de educación media, comienzan a cursar la asignatura de -inglés con carácter obligatorio, lo que se ha venido cumpliendo desde hace mucho tiempo con la finalidad de egresar individuos capaces de adquirir competencias que les permita la comunicación en un segundo idioma. Pero el caso es que los individuos egresados del nivel de educación media técnica, evidencian escasos conocimientos de este lenguaje. De allí que el propósito del artículo es divulgar los resultados de una investigación acerca de la adquisición de competencias comunicacionales del idioma inglés en los estudiantes educación media técnica. Metodológicamente es un estudio de de campo, diseño no experimental y nivel descriptivo. La población estuvo conformada por 30 estudiantes Educación Media Técnica de la Unidad Educativa Privada Jacob Pérez Carballo del municipio Girardot del estado Aragua. Como técnica de recolección de información, se usó la encuesta a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario cerrado de 16 ítems, con una escala de Lickert. Los resultados evidencian, que actualmente en la planificación educativa se observan debilidades a las cuales debe darse respuesta atendiendo a diversas perspectivas, que permitan el desarrollo de competencias comunicacionales del idioma ingles en estudiantes de educación media técnica; esto complementaría el aprendizaje al facilitar el desarrollo y dominio de esta lengua como una forma de articular conocimientos básicos necesarios para su desenvolvimiento en la vida cotidiana y también como cultura general.

Abstract

Students enrolled in the Venezuelan educational system from the first year of secondary education onwards begin to take the subject of English on a mandatory basis, which has been carried out for a long time with the aim of graduating individuals capable of acquiring skills that allows them to communicate in a second language. But the fact is that individuals who graduate from the technical secondary education level show little knowledge of this language. Hence, the purpose of the article is to disseminate the results of a research on the acquisition of communication skills of the English language in technical secondary education students. Methodologically, it is a field study, non-experimental design and descriptive level. The population was made up of 30 Technical Secondary Education students from the Jacob Pérez Carballo Private Educational Unit of the Girardot municipality of Aragua state. As a data collection technique, the survey was used through the application of a closed-ended questionnaire of 16 items, with a Likert scale. The results show that currently in educational planning there are weaknesses that must be responded to based on various perspectives that allow the development of communication skills in the English language in technical secondary education students; This would complement the learning by facilitating the development and mastery of this language as a way of articulating basic knowledge necessary for its development in daily life and also as general culture.
