La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la gerencia estratégica con el fin de orientar la gestión educativa hacia el telos en las instituciones educativas del Municipio de Soledad, Atlántico, Colombia.  El tipo de investigación fue descriptiva con diseño de campo y transaccional. Se determinó un número de individuos para aplicar el instrumento de recolección de datos, mediante un muestreo no probabilístico intencional, conformándose por 4 directivos y 72 docentes de la Institución Educativa INEM Miguel Antonio Caro. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó una encuesta constituida por (51) ítems con 5 alternativas de selección de escala Likert. Entre los resultados más relevantes se muestra que para el indicador “Misión” de la Dimensión “Elementos de la Gerencia”, la totalidad de directores consideran que se orienta a los docentes para fortalecer la misión institucional, mediante la definición de indicadores de gestión. Sin embargo, en cambio el 71,9% de los docentes considera lo contrario. En consecuencia, se denota que, se requieren directivos que emprendan acciones para que las docentes estén en línea con las funciones de la organización y la apoyen. Se concluye que la misión, visión, principios, valores, creencia y cultura, son poco tomados en cuenta para la gerencia estratégica para el desarrollo de la gestión académica; el liderazgo y la negociación, como característica de la gerencia estratégica, tienen poca presencia; el proceso de planificación y comunicación presentan debilidades al momento de su ejecución, afectando el proceso de gestión académica, tanto el perfil profesional como el ocupacional no se evidencian, por lo que la labor de gerente estratégico se ve comprometida.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze strategic management in order to guide educational management towards the telos in educational institutions in the Municipality of Soledad, Atlántico, Colombia. The type of research was descriptive with a field and transactional design. A number of individuals was determined to apply the data collection instrument, through an intentional non-probabilistic sampling, consisting of 4 directors and 72 teachers from the INEM Miguel Antonio Caro Educational Institution. For data collection, a survey consisting of (51) items with 5 Likert scale selection alternatives was applied. Among the most relevant results, it is shown that for the “Mission” indicator of the “Elements of Management” Dimension, all directors consider that teachers are guided to strengthen the institutional mission, through the definition of management indicators. However, 71.9% of teachers consider the opposite. Consequently, it is noted that managers are required to undertake actions so that teachers are in line with the functions of the organization and support it. It is concluded that the mission, vision, principles, values, beliefs and culture are rarely taken into account for strategic management for the development of academic management; leadership and negotiation, as a characteristic of strategic management, have little presence; the planning and communication process present weaknesses at the time of their execution, affecting the academic management process; both the professional and occupational profile are not evident, so the work of the strategic manager is compromised.
